The danger of mycotoxins in poultry feed and how to prevent their effects. Prepared by Dr. Safouh Haider.
Mycotoxins: These are metabolic products secreted by fungi that attack and invade crops before harvest. These fungi continue to grow, especially in poor storage conditions that are conducive to the growth of the fungus, and as a result, mycotoxins are formed. Rainfall on grain crops during their growth and before the period of harvest helps a lot in the growth of fungi and thus increases their content of mycotoxins. Seasonal rains often fall on grain crops such as corn, wheat, barley and soy in Europe, America and many other countries during the period of maturity and harvest of most of these crops. Despite good harvesting and drying, these agricultural crops remain laden with fungi and their toxins. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ostrich prepared by Dr. Anas Al-Rashed.

Toxoplasma disease (toxoplasmosis), prepared by Dr. Muhammad Rabie Qasida.
Toxoplasma disease, or what is known as toxoplasmosis, is one of the most important parasitic diseases that causes many health problems in both humans and animals. It may lead to miscarriage in humans and the occurrence of congenital deformities in the fetus. It may also infect the nervous system, affecting the vital functions of the brain. In animals, it may lead to miscarriage or the death of the animal after birth. The disease comes in either an individual form or an epidemic form, and its danger lies in the fact that many infected individuals or animals may carry the parasite, but do not show any disease symptoms except when there is a decrease in the level of immunity in the body, and then something happens. It is called a relapse, and the severe form of the disease appears. Toxoplasma is considered one of the most widespread diseases in the world. It is also considered one of the diseases that may lead to serious economic losses if it appears in an epidemic form in herds, as its effects are reflected on the income of the farmer and breeder in particular and on the national income in general.
