Early nutrition and the digestive system in chicks / Dr. Saad Al-Jijakli and Dr. Ahmed Al-Dairi.
Is the respiratory system of newly hatched chicks capable of digesting and absorbing feed materials? What is the role of early nutrition in the growth and maturation of the organ in chicks? Perhaps these questions are on the minds of our dear readers, especially since we talked in the previous issue about the importance of providing fodder and water to the chicks immediately after hatching (early feeding), as this speeds up the absorption of the yolk sac and makes the best possible use of its components. But the only way for chicks to benefit from the feed mixtures provided to them after hatching is the ability of their digestive system to benefit from the nutritional components of the feed, and this is what we will present through a summary of the scientific studies that have dealt with this topic in recent years. Studies have proven the ability of the chicks' intestines to benefit from feed from the moment of hatching, as with the completion of the hatching process, all internal organs in the chicks are fully developed from an anatomical standpoint, but some organs are not fully developed from an anatomical standpoint. The functional aspect, especially the digestive system, as well as the presence of bile salts, pancreatic lipase and colipase systems, are not as developed as required in newly hatched chicks. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First Aid Prepared by Dr. Michel Karam.
A question often comes to our minds: Why do we have to learn how to provide first aid when we are not human doctors? In fact, any person is vulnerable to being at the site of an accident for any reason. The possibility of saving an injured person depends on the first person to see what happened, as every minute that passes for the injured person without first aid - no matter how simple the condition - reduces his chance of survival and death. It should be noted that even in developed countries, it takes 10 to 18 minutes for an ambulance to reach the injured person’s location. Hence, it is the responsibility of individuals and workers in general, and those in charge of the establishment in particular, to know the health status of all workers and determine which of them suffer from diseases or which of them are susceptible to them (cases of asthma, high blood pressure, or diabetes). First aid, by definition: is the immediate care or emergency treatment provided to a person who has suffered a sudden medical injury, and is carried out until specialized medical service is obtained (the arrival of a doctor, an ambulance, or the transfer of the injured person to the hospital). The importance of first aid lies in: Preserving the life of the injured person. Avoid disability. Prevent complications and protect the injured person from any further harm. Relieve or eliminate pain. Prevent getting into rotational shock. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The importance of producing healthy eggs Prepared by Dr. Waheed Ezzo.
Obtaining healthy eggs includes increasing the percentage of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids and reducing the cholesterol content of eggs. This is achieved through the use of feed mixtures that contain oils or fats that are rich in omega-3 fatty acids. It has been observed that the fatty acid composition of the yolk fat increases Eggs are greatly affected by changing the composition of fatty acids in the chicken feed mixture.
