When I studied pharmacy and specialized in pharmaceutical manufacturing, I found that the veterinary pharmaceutical sector was significantly underdeveloped and needed innovation, especially since Syria had a vast livestock sector, which is a crucial pillar of the national economy. 🐄🐓💊 🎙 What is the importance of veterinary medicine for livestock, as well as for pets? 👨‍⚕ Veterinary medicine is even more important than food because it preserves animal health and prevents mortality. 🏥🐑 • For animals consumed by humans, medicine ensures weight gain and productivity, such as increased milk or meat production. • For pets 🐶🐱, it prevents diseases that could be transmitted to humans. 🎙 It is said that there are preventive and therapeutic medicines. What’s the difference between them? 🧐 👨‍⚕ ✅ *Preventive medicines* include immune boosters, vitamins, salts, and minerals. They maintain animal health and enhance production. 💪🍏 ✅ *Therapeutic medicines* are used when an animal falls ill to treat it and prevent economic losses due to weight loss or decreased production. 💊🩺 🎙 Does the quality of veterinary medicines affect human health? 🤔 👨‍⚕ Absolutely! Some veterinary medicines remain in an animal’s body for extended periods. If its meat is consumed before the withdrawal period ends, these drugs can transfer to humans, leading to antibiotic resistance, which is extremely dangerous. 🚨⚠ 🎙 Does an entrepreneur in veterinary pharmaceuticals need a medical or veterinary background? 👨‍⚕ Pharmaceutical manufacturing is the domain of pharmacists 👨‍⚕, but they cannot work alone. They need veterinarians and chemists. In my project, we have 13 veterinarians and 9 chemists working together. 🤝🧪 🎙 What are the challenges facing veterinary pharmaceutical businesses? 🔄 👨‍⚕ There have been many challenges, especially under the previous system, where bureaucracy and administrative hurdles slowed progress. However, we hope for more flexibility in the future. 📜⚖ 🎙 How competitive is the veterinary pharmaceutical market? 👨‍⚕ Unfortunately, 78 factories have been licensed in Syria, creating unfair competition compared to other countries such as Jordan (25 factories) and Egypt (42 factories). There must be an evaluation of factories and mandatory adherence to quality standards. 🏭✅ 🎙 Are there difficulties in providing veterinary medicines? 👨‍⚕ No, because there are many factories and also imports. However, we must protect national industry through fair customs tariffs. 🏢📦 🎙 What factors contribute to the success of a veterinary pharmaceutical project? ⭐ 👨‍⚕ 1. Continuous learning 📚🎓 2.
